After more than a decade without Led Zeppelin and a few solo projects under his belt Jimmy Page was itching to reuinite that mighty band that ruled the 70s. The problem was Robert Plant was having none of it. What to do? Well, he got the one singer who really could nail the Plant sound down – David Coverdale. Throughout his career with Whitesnake he had always been accused of stealing Plant's sound by none other than by Plant himself, so on this album Coverdale only cemented that reputation for the rest of time. Yes, it does sound like a long lost Zeppelin album.

That being said, this is one decent album. Although Coverdale's vocals don't sound exactly at their prime what really works about this is the extremely strong material the two crafted together. Jimmy Page has never sounded better and the long list of line-up musicians including Denny Carmassi from Montrose sound just as good.

Except for a couple of really weak tracks like “Take A Look At Yourself” and “Feeling Hot” which actually leave me feeling cold, this album is better than any Led Zeppelin album after HOUSES OF THE HOLY. This could have been the next album since it has a lot of PHYSICAL GRAFFITI influence anyway. Great stuff but the two lesser tracks leave this less than perfect. I really wish they would've come up with a better band name though. Led Snake? White Zeppelin? Oh well. It's the music that counts.
