I was gunna say, you will be happy to know I judge music on it's own merit and not outside factors :D It can lead to some unpopular opinions, but I'm ok with that! Yeah, I hated how most proggers love 70s rock but then criticized Heritage by Opeth for "being 70s rock"... "We want Opeth not 70s rock" even though they also said they wanted something new. They make something like Systematic Chaos, and it's too modern, too heavy, too far from their roots, etc. Then they release A Dramatic Turn of Events, which is as close to the style of Images & Words as they've gotten since, and now they aren't progressing enough. LANFEAR «"This Harmonic Consonance" is an excellent offering of Lanfear. I took my time listening to this album prior to submitting this review. Music on this album somewhat reminiscent of Queensryche, vocally and melodically. Overall it's a great album with catchy melodies and great musicianship. My favourite track would have to be "The Reverend" , it has great melody which get stuck in your mind. I believe this album deserves 4.5 stars. Will appeal to any early Queensryche fans. 1.
