"Stabwound Intercourse" is an EP release by US death metal act Gorgasm. The EP was released through Pulverizer Records in March 1998. It´s the first label release by the band.

The music on the 6 track, 16:35 minutes long EP is gore themed brutal US death metal in the vein of Cannibal Corpse. Deep brutal and almost completely unintelligible growling, deathgrinding blast beating and an emphasis on brutality rather than memorability. The music is fairly standard for the genre, but it´s well composed, very well played and the EP features a strong and powerful sound production too. The band go out of their way to be as brutal and vile as possible which is apparent with a quick view on the cover artwork or by reading songtitles like "Coprophiliac", "Necrosodomy" and "Clitoral Circumcision", but again that´s pretty standard for the genre.

"Stabwound Intercourse" is what I´d call a quality brutal death metal release, but the fact that the tracks sound much the same is a slight isssue in my book. Still a 3.5 star (70%) rating is fully deserved.
