Now, that's what I'm talking about! The two tracks on this release are right up my Strasse. The musicianship is not exactly top notch, but there is a certain darkness to both "Black Ice" and "Noonday" which I think should appeal to fans of various modern more extreme types of metal - even if this release is essentially just high octane hard rock.

"Noonday" starts out a ballady sort of track (with a certain Paradise Lost feel to it), but suddenly explodes into a semi-punky track that sounds a bit like a simplified and speed up Black Sabbath song which contains a wah-wah solo which Kirk Hammett might well have have been influenced by. "Black Ice" starts out with a heavy Judas Priest-like riff, but similarly explodes into an uptempo noisy track whose chorus is, not original, but pretty darn groovy.

As it happens both tracks on this album remind me of the title track of The Damned Things' upcoming "Ironiclast" album, and, who knows, maybe Scott Ian listened to this album when he was younger...?

This release should appeal to fans of both traditional metal and modern extreme metal, and I think that those who like punk music and noose rock might actually like this too.
