Stephen Miss Crazy was a part of glam revival, bringing the glorious 80s music from the likes of Cinderella, Kix, and Def Leppard alive, and under Metal Mayhem label, they released their eponymous debut in 2006. The excessive usage of make-up on their appearances signifies an attempt to imitate Kiss or Alice Cooper, but somehow, they looked like Marylin Manson or Slipknot to me. I must admit their look is outdated and somehow a bit silly, but don't be fooled as behind those mask, they uphold a real deal of high quality rock and roll.

Markus Allen Christopher's vocal was heavily influenced by Tom Keifer and Brian Johnson, making them looks like a Cinderella clone, especially from "Night Songs" era. Songs like "Billie" or "Life's Been Good" really borrowed the infectious riffs from that album, while the ballad, "You're Blue", is definitely a rip-off of "Nobody's Fool", and as much as I hate that song, there's no reason for me to like this one either. They can't hide the Def Leppard influence on "Hide Island", but unfortunately, this is way too bland. I recommend you to check out other kickass tunes such as "Scream" with its fast and heavy Kix-style rhythm, the uptempo "Now" that will tap your toes rapidly, and "Shut Eyes" rolled nicely side by side with Ronnie Borchert and wrapped tight with a smooth commercial chorus.

The production level is also very good, the musicianship isn't very outstanding but definitely above average, and most of the tracks are highly enjoyable with two or three acceptable fillers. For fans of raucous vocal and dirty rock and roll, Miss Crazy's debut is neat.
