UMUR "Lucifer Has Spoken" is a single release by Swedish death metal act Firespawn. The single was released through Century Media Records in August 2015. It was released as a teaser to the band´s debut full-length studio album "Shadow Realms", which was released in November 2015. Firespawn is a project band consisting of several rather prolific Swedish musicians in lead vocalist LG Petrov (Entombed/Entombed A.D.), guitarist Victor Brandt (Entombed/Entombed A.D.), guitarist Fredrik Folklare (Necrophobic, Unleashed), bassist Alex Friberg (Necrophobic), and drummer Matte Modin (Defleshed, Dark Funeral).

The single features two tracks, which both also appear on "Shadow Realms", so if you´re looking for exclusives, "Lucifer Has Spoken" isn´t that interesting. Considering that it was released as a teaser rather than a non-album single it was still worth a listen when it first appeared though. Stylistically we´re treated to some relatively standard Swedish death metal both in terms of style and quality. Having LG Petrov on board immediately leads one´s thoughts toward Entombed, and there are several other elements who point in that direction. But the music is slighly darker and more death metal oriented than contemporary Entombed.

The single is well produced, featuring a powerful and clear sound quality, which brings out the best in the music and as expected, considering the names involved, the musicianship is on a high level too. So upon conclusion "Lucifer Has Spoken" is a good quality teaser single, and a 3.5 star (70%) rating is deserved.
