Stephen
Danger Avenue is a Swedish melodic rock/glam band that doesn't sound like most of Swedish bands that came out lately to the scene. They put on a lethal combination of late 70s classic rock vibe, the 80s glam attack, and the 90s melodic rock, forming a very interesting mixture with a non-complicated structure intended for a fully enjoyable rock and roll ride.

"Avenues & Boulevards" is a brilliant starter, you can hear the early 80s Night Ranger feel all over the song and the guitar solo is inspiring. This song steals me instantly. "The Guilty And The Innocent" is a good midtempo rocker and the harmonic vocal is nicely done. "There For None To See" shows the band trying hard to create the 70s environment, but somehow the rhythm guitar sounds bland there, a good acoustic ballad nevertheless.

On to the next tracks, honestly I can't find any tracks that can surpass the first song until "Please Mr.Saturday Night" kicks in. The joyful nuance was painted on both the wonderful verse and chorus. "Exile From The Land of The Broken Hearts" is another great semi-punk uptempo tune, "Bigger Than All of Us" that was intended as their strong single is totally awesome but "West Coast Angel" which sounds very 80s, very close to Poison, definitely the best of the bunch!

If you read the band's bio, they claim to have a vast range of influences, from Kiss, Thin Lizzy, Saxon, all the way to the likes of Iron Maiden, Queen, and thousand of other bands, but for me, the closest comparison of their music that I can imagine is perhaps Status Quo meets Hanoi Rocks with a slice of Night Ranger pie. A unique band and I hope they keep up the spirit and release an even better album in the future.
