I was intrigued with Rhode Island Red as they pointed out that the music is a combination of The Cult and Garbage. Though I was never really a fan of those two, stumbling to bands with a strange combination like this isn't happening everyday, so after 'Kerosene' arrived, I quickly pull out the player's tray to spin this EP urgently.

My first impression is 'hmmm', well vocally, Lyla D'Souza is truly great. She has the range, the quality. The rhythm section is also good, but the songs are making me wondering, if these are the strongest tracks, I found it's hard for them to penetrate the market easily. That's because the commercial grip on the arrangement aren't huge enough to grab casual fans' attention, except maybe slightly seen on the power ballad, "Stalemate", which I think is the best track.

"Kerosene" is a good midtempo track and "Beige" is even better, but both songs are struggling to find their way to reach above-average stature. The comparison of 80s hard rock and 90s alternative rock is spot on, but I'm expecting a more hook-laden songs, monstrous compositions, catchier licks, in their full-length album later on. Good album anyway.
