Faustcoven play an interesting mixture of doom metal and black metal, with some death metal elements creeping in here and there (for instance, the vocals seem to be halfway between a black metal screech and a death metal grunt). Overall, I'd call the mixture a sort of blackened doom metal - the slow tempos and deep, heavy riffs mean that doom metal song structures and playing tend to rule the day, but the black metal aesthetic makes this a decidedly different prospect from your average Sabbath-worshipping retro-doom outfit. Interesting, but the lo-fi approach can be wearing and, whilst aesthetically appropriate, one does suspect it's partially here to cover for the thinness of the material.
