My Ruin is an American groove metal/heavy metal band originally from California (Now located in Tennessee) formed in 1999.
My Ruin originally started out as a solo project of musician Tairrie B after her previous band Manhole disbanded. After releasing the album 'Speak and Destroy' in 1999, My Ruin evolved into a full band although there would be many line-up changes over the years. Vocalist Tairrie B would marry guitarist Mick Murphy in 2008, they have also been the only constant members of the band.
My Ruin started out as a alternative/Nu-metal band, but started to become more groove/heavy/stoner metal oriented with "The Horror of Beauty". They saw a complete shift in style with the album 'The Brutal Language' which saw a stoner groove/heavy metal sound take place as their sound. This would continue to be expanded upon release after release, eventually adding influences of blues and southern rock.
