aglasshouse "Crossfade" is the self-titled debut album of the American alternative metal band, Crossfade, released in 2004.

Before Crossfade released their more experimental "We All Bleed" in 2011, they were in their early developments on their self-titled debut. Coming from influences, such as Breaking Benjamin and Theory of A Deadman, they had a hard time finding their personal sound on this album. Being that these bands caused their influences, the album contains tracks that jump from tracks between these to sounds.

Vocal/instrument dominated songs are a rarity on this album, because all of the songs have a decent mix of both. Tracks like this include "So Far Away", "Cold", and "No Giving Up".

All of the songs have a subtle, dark tone to them. However, they are able to maintain lyrical clarity and keep it from going overboard.

Some tracks seem to be more dimmed-down then others, and seem to have a much weaker version of their metal. Songs like "Dead Skin", "Disco", and "The Unknown" would do better to go on their second album rather then this album.

Again unlike 'We All Bleed', this album seems to retain a solid sound unlike the former, which has more differentiating sounds. This album is a definite album to add to any alternative (or any general) metal collection.
