I saw him only once in 2005 but I remember it vividly. As you said, the Vai experience is doubly breathtaking live: it's not a concert, it's a show. Eric Sardinas was his support by the way. Great guitarist as well.

I´ll sell my soul to play like that!!! I´ve seen Vai live a couple of times and not only is it an astonishing musical experience, he is also a great humorous and charasmatic musician to boot. Tender Surrender is one of my favorite Vai tracks. Take a listen/ look at all the details. Just amazing.
