Auttist is a post-metal band from Guanajuato, Mexico. Their brand of music mixes alternative rock, post rock and progressive metal.
The band's current lineup consists of Eduardo Ramírez Santamaría (guitar), Cesar Alejandro González Galvan (bass), Hector Iván Mata Otero (drums) and Dante Joshua Méndez Andrade (vocals).
The sound of Auttist is characterized by distorted guitars, heavy ambience, gradual evolution of the structures in the songs and a well-known emphasis on the voices, combining sequences aggressive and distorted with melodic sounds and orchestral passages.
Their tone in general is very serious. The production is usually light, giving the impression of being a garage rock band. This allows for the formation minimalist and repetitive sections, sometimes with instruments as the echo theremin or guitars without distortion.
The lyrics tackle many subjects, including metaphysics and rationalism.
They released their debut album, Paraíso Artificial, in October 2010.
