SPIRIT OF THE FOREST picture
Spirit of the Forest is an atmospheric black metal band from Montreal, Canada, formed in 2005 by "Phobetor". The band is undeniably black metal, showcasing all the staples such as blast beats, tremolo picking, raspy and/or shrieked vocals, fast speeds and raw production.

However, the band differs a bit from the standard black metal due to their more varied, atmospheric songwriting, improved sound quality, (while raw it's less buzzy, and each instrument can be heard well...even bass!) and even folk moments. The more progressive, varied song writing and focus on atmosphere makes the band an intriguing listen.
