Island is a german avant/prog death metal band from Bonn (north Rhine-Westphalia). They were formed in 2003. Their lyrical themes are nature, decay, oblivion and dreams. The members are Florian Toyka - Guitars, bass and vocals, Christian Kolf - Guitars and vocals, Clemens Toyka - Brass and Rafael Calman - Drums. The past member is Patrick Schröder - Drums and vocals. Besides its English meaning, "Island" is also the german name for the country Iceland.
