Feral was first formed under the name Valmer & Hook in 2002 by two friend who decided to record a demo as a joke and release it under the name Black Death in early 2003. When the band was asked to preform a gig in 2005 they started to search for additional members wich resulted the live guitarist Johell and later the drummer Damien and lead guitarist Svarte Petter. With the new full line up they released a demo named "Grim Winternight!" in 2006 and chortly after this decided to take a turn to a more serious attitude and changed their name from Valmer & Hook to Feral.
