Afterbirth is a US brutal/slam death metal act that were formed in 1993. Hailing from Long Island, New York, the group produced two demos but then disbanded in 1995.
The band was reformed in 2013 and released a compilation of their old work, before creating a new demo in 2014. Vocalist Matt Duncan then left the band, subsequently committing suicide in 2016.
Will Smith (Artificial Brain, Buckshot Facelift et al) become their new vocalist in 2016 and the band released their debut studio album The Time Traveler's Dilemma in 2017, a whole 24 years after their original formation.
