Geordie was a Newcastle-based hardrocking glam band. While popular on the local scene and in Scandinavia and Germany in the 1970s, they are probably best known for being the band that vocalist Brian Johnson left to join AC/DC.
Mostly active in the 70s, Geordie's hard boogie style fell within the hardrock genre that heavy metal would eventually grow out of, and their 1983 album "No Sweat" is often associated with the NWOBHM movement.
