THY WINTER KINGDOM is the second demo released by BEHEMOTH a year after their first but shows no improvement in production values whatsoever and may actually be worse as it has a horrible hissing and the instruments are quite low in the mix while Nergal’s vocals are much more prominent. Musically the band improved a lot and they can actually hold a tune and play in unison. Nergal found his signature demented black metal vocal style starting here as well. This was released independently.

This one is only three tracks long and all three would appear on future releases. “Thy Winter Kingdom” and “The Dance Of The Pagan Flames” appear on the “…From The Pagan Vastlands” demo and “Moonspell Rites” would end up on the “And The Forests Dream Eternally” EP thus making this a highly inessential release that has all but been completely forgotten about. While a significant improvement in the development of the band’s sound, too little to be of much interest even for the most hardcore rabid fan base.
