LOAD THE GUN TILL YOU DIE!

Remaining a cult classic of thrash metal, Casbah's two-track single Russian Roulette delivers relentless proto-death/thrash that won't stop kicking your ass until it's over. The killer title cut just pummels the listener with riff after riff, sticking quite a few different riffs in one six and a half minute song. The song goes from a slow menacing crunch, to lightning speeds, and even infectiously catchy. Add in a roaring solo, and you've got yourself a thrash masterpiece.

The b-side, "Death Metal", begins as a death march with a crunching bass riff before assaulting the listener with breakneck speeds. While the vocals aren't quite death metal vocals as we know them, plenty of the riffs are of death metal styling.

This essential listen for any thrash fan, as it's among the best of the killer 80's Japanese thrash scene. Also, that album cover is awesome. Yeah it's campy, but I love it.
