RATT's debut album was glam metal at its best. Sleezy, catchy, in-yer-face metal that took as much pride in hairspray as it did in the music. One of the earlier successes in pop-metal, RATT actually scored a top 40 hit in the US with “Round And Round.” The fact is that most of the tracks on this album are equally infectious. I always thought of this band as a louder version of Aerosmith for some reason. They have the same attitude and songwriting skills, however they didn't have the same staying power. On this first album it was the right look, the right sound and the right everything at the right time. I find this to be one of the better glam metal releases of the 80s that still sounds good even today. Although they had several decent albums after this debut, it was this one that sounded good from beginning to end with one strong track after another.
