An extension of the Abruptum formula, if only very slightly. Here, Hell Icon play an even murkier, more noise laced piece, about 37 minutes long. The drums sound very ritual and the piece is fuzz laced and dissonant, like most of their pieces.

It's a little step away from pure Abruptum worship, so it's not as lacking in innovation. Some parts feel suitably evil and hold genuine unease. But you still could have heard far more adventurous black metal in the time it takes to digest this chunk of sonic nihilism.

For fans of Abruptum still, this could prove to be a worthwhile venture.
