UMUR "Reborn in Chaos" is a compilation album by Polish death metal act Vader. The compilation was released through Baron Records in 1996. It was released between Vader´s second full-length studio album "De Profundis" (July 1995, Croon Records) and the covers album "Future of the Past" (December 1996, Koch Records). "Reborn in Chaos" features the material from Vader´s 1989 "Necrolust" demo and from their 1990 "Morbid Reich" demo. So it´s basically a re-release of their most significant demo releases.

Vader formed in 1983 and released the "Live in Decay" live demo in December 1986, but the early incarnation of the band split-up in 1988, leaving guitarist Piotr Paweł Wiwczarek who was the only remaining member to assemble a new lineup. Wiwczarek took on the vocal duties in addition to his guitarist role, and added bassist Jacek Kalisz and drummer Krzysztof "Doc" Raczkowski to the ranks, and the trio lineup recorded the four tracks featured on the "Necrolust" demo and eventually the six tracks featured on the "Morbid Reich" demo.

The tracklist features the material in reverse chronological order and therefore the album opens with the six tracks from the "Morbid Reich" demo and closes with the four tracks from the "Necrolust" demo. The "Morbid Reich" demo is quite interesting as it´s one of the best selling demos on the metal scene, selling more than 10.000 copies... and a bit unusual too it was originally released through the Carnage Records label. But all the fuzz and attention given to the demo are well deserved as Vader took a step up from the otherwise good quality brutal thrash metal with death metal leanings they played on the "Necrolust" demo, to a more brutal and heavy death metal style with thrash metal leanings. So both demos are great quality demo recordings, but the material and the quality of the sound production on "Morbid Reich" do take the prize here.

Given the popularity of especially the "Morbid Reich" demo it was a no-brainer to compile the two demos and re-release them. There is a lot of interest in these early Vader recordings and although "Morbid Reich" sold very well, not everyone got a copy back then and as the demo was only released on cassette tape (it wasn´t until 2015 that it was released on vinyl/CD through Witching Hour productions), the "Reborn in Chaos" compilation was an opportunity to get the demo material on CD. The original Baron Records version of the compilation was actually also only available on cassette tape, but a CD version was released through Metal Mind Productions the same year and Hammerheart Records reissued the compilation on CD/vinyl/cassette in 1997. It has since been reissued many times. A 3.5 star (70%) rating is deserved.
