A terrifyingly angry black metal assault, Craft's Void draws on punk attitude but doesn't quite go so far as to fully embrace the blackened crust punk approach of Black Breath or recent Darkthrone. Instead, the album taps into a nerve of raw rage against, well, everything which is so volcanic and explosive that it threatens to make even Mayhem's most defiant works sound like an empty bluff. From the intro (in which a ghostly scream morphs into the wail of an incoming nuclear missile) to the conclusion, it's an assault on the senses that proves once and for all that black metal bands can rock out just like anyone else.
