A great reworking of the best compositions of the first three albums, this "The Root Of All Evil". I must admit that at the time of the first three albums Arch Enemy had struck me so much in technique and style though, however, I had not followed a lot and I did not buy anything. This CD I bought it more out of curiosity than anything else. But I have discovered some positive feelings.

Arch Enemy are certainly immediately started on the right foot and remembering a live video that I got to see in the beginning of the millennium, I can only say that, for those not following the time had "The Roots Of All Evil" is an excellent departure. Certainly at the time their Thrash/ Death Metal was at the forefront and now it sounds much more like Death Prog Metal that anything else but the fact remains that the compositions have maintained freshness and warmth, thanks to the new arrangements. I am always amazed by the immense guitar technique of the Amott brothers, who have very few rivals.

Other albums are more representative of Arch Enemy. But "The Roots Of All Evil" is really an album that looks good in any discography.
