Part 2 of the House of Atreus saga picks up musically right where part 1 left off. (See my review for the previous album for details). Recall this is a concept album based on an ancient Greek myth. The music blends you standard Virgin Steele power metal melodic goodness with a real symphonic/classical feel. This album is a bit more sprawling than the first, with fewer metal songs and more piano interludes and the like. That said, what's on here is still high quality, and as a cohesive work is really nice. These albums are the pinnacle of mixing the symphonic with the power metal. However, due to their sprawling nature they are a bit much, so I give it 4 stars. A skillful editor may have been able to extract a little bit and end up with a stronger album. Highlights are the driving opener Wings Of Vengeance, the powerful A Token Of My Hatred, and the over the top saga closer Resurrection Day.
