SANCTUARY is an excellent Iron Maiden single, although I wouldn't put it in the top tier of the band's massive discography. It consists of one track from their debut album, and two live tracks from the Marquee Club in London. Let's get the criticisms out of the way. The two live tracks are good but could be played better. I'm not a musician in any way, but the guitarists seem out of sync to me. These songs show why Clive Burr and Steve Harris are held in such high regard, but one would expect better from Dave Murray.

Paul Di'Anno's singing is good. Unlike Iron Maiden's more progressive later releases, which I prefer, Di'Anno's style fits the band's early music very well. The title track is a really fine example of their early style. I often don't listen to entire albums; my Asperger's Syndrome brain doesn't encourage it. SANCTUARY is an over all enjoyable way to get a short blast of Iron Maiden.

Iron Maiden replaces the Iron Lady. While few would wish for such a demise of anyone, male or female, there were many at the time who warmed to the metaphor :-)
