Genre: neoclassical power metal

Okay, I know that power metal is supposed to be pompous and cheesy, but this is too much for my taste... or perhaps it is really too generic for my taste. These are brilliant musicians to be sure, and they know a lot of techniques and can do some really impressive things on their instruments. And they deserve credit for that. However, I do not think that any of the tracks are outstanding in relation to the genre of power metal. It is, as I said, very generic and cheesy, and I think that some of the things they do on this album even sound, unintentionally, silly. There are some cool things in "Endless Slaughter" though.

I do think that fans of epic and neoclassical power metal will love this album. I wouldn't recommend it to fans of the more extreme types of metal.
