SOD's American debut "Inches from the Mainline" failed to garner much mainstream attention, due to the fact that its wannabe tuff guy nu metal sound was being done to death by other major label bands during the 2000-2001 era. They returned in 2003 with "Metafour", which has very little of that bipolar nu metal thing going on. It is more of an attempt at a generic early 2000s melodic rock album (though it is worth noting that nearly EVERY nu metal band was doing the exact same thing around this time). The music on this is best described as some sort of cross between the angsty mainstream rock of Linkin Park and the quirky lyrical and vocal stylings of Faith No More.
