MELVINS — Houdini (review)

Ignore Spread Eagle Beagle - it's a drum-based goof-off track tacked on to subtly hint that the show's over and it's time for you to move on. The rest of the Melvins' Houdini is a brilliant morass of grungey sludge metal riffs courtesy of the mighty King Buzzo and Dale Crover (with Lori Black maybe or maybe not lending bass). As well as their own ground-breaking material, the gang come up with a thunderously heavy cover of Going Blind by Kiss which manages to outshine the original substantially. Fans of greasy, dirty sludge metal with plenty of chunky Sabbath riffs are in for a real treat with Houdini.

I enjoy Melvins goof off tracks :( . My favorite goof off track here though is Pearl Bomb.
