"Hospital Carnage" is the 6th full-length studio album by Spanish goregrind act Haemorrhage. The album will be released in May 2011 by Relapse Records. Haemorrhage is quite the cult act and has existed since the early nineties releasing both major and minor goregrind releases through the years.

It will probably come as no surprise that Haemorrhage kneel at the altar of early Carcass. In that respect they aren´t any different than other Carcass whorshippers like The County Medical Examiners and General Surgery. So you get both blasting grindcore and mid-paced death metal sections, deep juicy growls and higher pitched sneering aggressive type vocals too. And if you´re still in doubt, songtitles like "Intravenous Molestation Of Obstructionist Arteries (O-pus VI)", "Resuscitation Manoeuvres" and "Flesh-devouring Pandemia" will probably give you a clue to what this album is about.

Overall it´s so and so with the originality, so it´s up to the songwriting, the performance and the production to convince me. Fortunately all three elements are pretty good but I wouldn´t call the music outstanding or anything like that. I enjoy myself while the album lasts, but once it is finished I´m not able to remember much from "Hospital Carnage". The band are well playing and I especially enjoy the varied ( and at times comical) vocals on the album. A 3 star rating is deserved.
