"Extremely Fucking Dead" is an EP release and the first label release by US, California based death metal act Extremity. The EP was released through 20 Buck Spin in April 2017. Extremity formed in 2016 and released this EP and their debut full-length studio album "Coffin Birth" (2018) before disbanding in 2018. Among others the lineup features Marissa Martinez-Hoadley from Cretin on guitars and vocals.

The six tracks (one is a short intro) on the 26:51 minutes long EP are in an old school death metal style, which features elements from both the Swedish, the US, and the UK death metal and grindcore scenes of the late 80s and early 90s. There are zero contemporary elements like hardcore shouting/screaming vocals, breakdowns or clean vocals on this release...this is inherently old school in every way possible. Of course that also means that you won´t hear anything here you haven´t heard before, but fortunately Extremity are seasoned veterans of the scene and they understand which elements to bring forth for this type of release to work. It´s slimy, vile, horror drenched, and brutal death metal featuring abysmal deep yet slightly intelligible growling vocals. Death metal just like our mama made it...

"Extremely Fucking Dead" features a raw and brutal sounding production, which suits the music perfectly. It has the right authentic rawness to it, but it´s still detailed enough to hear all instruments and vocals clearly in the mix. A 3.5 star (70%) rating is deserved.
