This debut album of the trilogy GENIUS is one of the most inspired and impressive concept opera rock albums ever released!It's the fruit of the amazing imagination and talent of DANIELE LIVERANI- a true sensational Italian musician,responsable for great musical projects like EMPTY TREMOR,TWINSPIRITS,KHYMERA,COSMICS among others!This album proves that a brilliant musician can make a fabulous concept opera rock album,with a marvelous cast -but in the same time to be a very coherent and well builded musical construction!It's absolutelly impressive the fact that the instrumentists on this album are only 2 persons-DANIELE LIVERANI himself and DARIO CICCIONI!All instruments-guitars and keyboards excepting drums -are played by this fantastic musician called DANIELE LIVERANI!Musically speaking-this album is a great mixture of prog metal-symphonic elements-speed-sometimes even trash-power metal-pure heavy metal-all in a very attractive and inspired formula!The vocalists are wonderful and they deliver impressive vocal acts , each of them has his own place,well defined and precise in the story!The storyteller-performed by Philip Bynoe is simply catchy and his interventions between the songs are perfectly well placed!All tracks are pretty long,but not at all boring or exagerated in their display,the music is technical but not too demonstrative -the music is really song orientated and focused!Superbe compositions and a great musical triumph,a true lifetime achievement for Liverani-under all aspects!The 2 albums that follow under the GENIUS title are magnificent as well,and GENIUS seems to be one of the most ambitious and spectacular rock operas ever!!5 STARS FOR A MASTERPIECE!
