"Demo #1" is the first demo recording by Finnish thrash metal act Sacred Crucifix. The demo was independently released in 1988. Sacred Crucifix formed in 1987 under the Criminal Assault monicker and released the "Demo 1987" before opting to change their name to Sacred Crucifix. This demo is a re-release of the Criminal Assault demo minus the track "Blessed Pilgrim", which the band opted to leave out.

Stylistically this is aggressive and brutal sounding thrash metal greatly influenced by artists like Sodom and Kreator, but also by the rawness and savage sound of the contemporary South American thrash metal scene. It´s well performed, well produced, and relatively memorable, and although you won´t find much here you haven´t heard before, it´s still a good quality thrash metal demo and certainly one of the earliest raw thrash metal demos from Finland. A 3 star (60%) rating is warranted.
