"Bad Magic" is the 23rd full-length studio album by UK heavy rock/metal act Motörhead. The album was released through UDR Music in August 2015. Despite some serious health issues over the course of the last couple of years Lemmy, Philip Campbell, and Mikkey Dee soldier on, and have found time to write and record "Bad Magic". Lemmy has said it over and over again. He will never retire, but rather die on stage doing the thing that he loves the most: Playing bad ass rock´n´roll.

Stylistically the music on "Bad Magic" continues the sound that the three-piece have now played on many albums. If you don´t expect great development in sound you won´t be disappointed. This is just Motörhead like they´ve more or less sounded the last 20 years. That also means the material on the 13 track, 42:57 minutes long album is consistent in quality and style, but only few tracks stand out. Again it´s business as usual for Motörhead. The album is packed with heavy mid paced- and a few faster paced hard rockers, and even a power balled in "Till the End". This time around Motörhead has also opted to include a cover of "Sympathy For The Devil" by The Rolling Stones as the closing track on the album.

The musicianship is as always strong, and it´s definitely not audible that these guys aren´t exactly youths anymore. The voice production occasionally makes Lemmy sound like he is about to lose his dentures, which is slightly distracting, but it´s a minor negative detail, and all in all this sounds as bad ass rocking as always. The sound production is suitably raw and powerful, so upon conclusion "Bad Magic" is another consistent release by Motörhead. A 3.5 star (70%) rating is deserved.
