Krakatau is an experimental metalcore / mathcore / avant-garde metal band from Moscow in Russia, formed in 2004.

Krakatau was formed in Moscow in 2004, inspired by the experiments of Mike Patton, and other worthy guru, so the band has always been close to the spirit of musical freedom. As result it immediately attracted the attention of fans of alternative music. Hallmarks of Krakatau may assume conceptualism, provocative, absurdism. The band's sound has developed from an experimental, dirty and hypnotic sound that is at times closer to the refined music lovers.
