"Set for Extinction" is the 3rd full-length studio album by US grindcore act Kill the Client. The album was released in October 2010 by Relapse Records.
The 19 track album is 26:16 minutes long but it´s considered a full-length release. The songs are short and sharp, blasting and caustic grindcore assaults with some really aggressive and raw vocals in front. The band on occassion lower the pace slightly to provide some groove but "Set for Extinction" is generally a very fast paced album. If I have to mention an influence it would be Nasum, but Kill the Client are not clones in any respect.
The production is raw and powerful, the songwriting is top notch and add to that a well playing band and you got yourself a quality grindcore release. My only complaint is that it´s a bit one-dimensional but that´s not unusual, and in this case only a minor issue, when we´re talking grindcore. A 3.5 star rating is well deserved.
