Stephen Beau Nasty is a sleaze glam act popped up at the late 80s and featured the well-known metal drummer, Mike Terrana. Only a few know his days with Beau Nasty before he played with Yngwie Malmsteen, Axel Rudi Pell, Artension, and Masterplan. Their musical direction is quite similar to Winger, but sleazier in the riffs department. Mark Fretz' vocal style is like a raspy version of Mark Slaughter, but funny thing is, a friend of mine said that he's like a squealing cat with lots of sands inside his throat. The production level is awesome, handled by the famous Beau Hill.

The opening track, and also their single, "Shake It", has a nice and interesting chorus, but overall it's just an average track. Some strong tunes here are the passionate ballads, "Paradise In The Sand" and "Make A Wish". The latter track was later performed by Jesse Strange which is a better rendition than this one. "Gemini" is a good commercial midtempo rocker and "Piece of The Action" has some naughty groove and catchy chorus. The best track of this album is the title track, an uptempo track with outstanding solos. Half of the album unfortunately can be considered filler and most of them are mediocre songs, and that's a shame and a waste of talents.

"Dirty But Well Dressed" is worth to buy if you can find it cheap, especially if you want to see how Terrana's ever-changing drum pattern complemented the band's sleazy nature. This album is far from essential but hardcore glam or Winger fans might appreciate this better than the casual fans.
