"Code of Conspiracy" is the 2nd full-length studio album by Danish melodic death/ thrash metal act Submission. The album was released in November 2008 by Mighty Music. The album marks the debut of the band´s new lead vocalist Lasse Sivertsen.
The music on "Code of Conspiracy" is a hybrid of melodic death metal, thrash and metalcore. At various points references to acts such as Soilwork, Strapping Young Lad ( take a listen to the track "Determent Infiltration"), Scarve and Fear Factory are valid. The vocals by new frontman Lasse Sivertsen vary between aggressive raw vocals and clean melodic ditto. The musicianship is generally excellent. The songs include both death/ thrashy sections and melodic sections with hook laden vocal lines. One other features that stands out as positive on the album are the melodic guitar solos. They are very well played and provides some good variation to the music. The production is professional and powerful.
Compared to the debut album by Submission, the band have taken on a more varied and melodic approach to songwriting on this album and I think this is a really good releases deserving a 3.5 star rating.
