"Odium Humani Generis" is the 2nd full-length studio album by Russian death metal/groove metal act Perimeter. The album was released through Mazzar/Mystic Empire in 2008.
The music on the album pretty much continue down the same path as the music on the debut album "Healing by Festering (2006)". A combination of death metal and groove metal executed with militant precision. References to acts like Fear Factory and especially Chimaira are valid. The music can be brutal and aggressive but there´s an omnipresent groove on the music that defines the sound of "Odium Humani Generis". The vocals are both deep growling and more aggressive type shouting vocals. Compared to the debut album the sound production is a bit more raw but unfortunately also a bit more messy.
"Odium Humani Generis" is a 31:25 minutes long bludgeoning attack of pure aggression and while I miss the more controlled sound production of the debut album, "Odium Humani Generis" is still a quality release and deserves a 3.5 star (70%) rating.
