Throughout their career KISS has made their share of live albums and have been ridiculed by rumors of not being completely live recordings and for KISS this fact has been proven to be true by their own admissions however any artist who says that their concert recordings are completely live without having to correct a few things here and there are in fact liars but with KISS they are examined even closer as their act is more about what you see and feel rather than what you hear. My first listen to KISS was from their first concert album ALIVE (1975) and that album rings true with my previous statement, and that it did and with ALIVE 2 (1977) it too made you feel you were a part of the show even though it too was not totally the complete show from beginning to end as they wanted the music to reflect off the most recent studio albums (Destroyer,Rock And Roll Over,Love Gun) and not repeat the songs off ALIVE, but also the sound seemed much more polished than its predecessor but it still gave you the feeling of being a part of the show even if you were not actually there and that theme has carried them through decade after decade so when a big event not just for the group but for everybody and everyone who is living,it seemed appropriate for KISS to once again take advantage of this and use it to their favor, thus came KISS ALIVE THE MILLENNIUM CONCERT recorded at Vancouver's B.C. Place on December 31st 1999 in front of another packed audience of KISS ARMY fanatics, to be a part of this actual show then be able to hear it was an experience more so for my own ego as i would be able to tell what was fixed and what was actually live. First, I just want to say that this is the way I want to remember the band as and not the way they are now (not with Tommy and Eric wearing Ace and Peter's characters) this was the group that started it all and this album does that and more, from the opening track of Psycho Circus to the last explosion of Rock and Roll All Night and everything in between, this album does what its supposed to do and then some. Now, to be honest from someone who was at this show there was some things that were fixed due to mechanical problems with equipment and stage effects and some of Paul's vocals and Peter's were redone here and there but no artist is going to leave those in and put it out for the fans to buy, that would be suicide, so in the end this album does what its supposed to do and that is to make the listener feel as if they are right in the middle of a concert and as Paul Stanley said before "you don't just listen with your ears, you do with your eyes as well" Also, the credits on this page says Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer are on this one...that is WRONG!!! its ACE & PETER!!!!
