UMUR Flesh Perversion is the debut full-length studio album by US death metal act Festered. The album was released in November 2009 through Razorback Records.

The music on the album is old school gore themed US death metal in the vein of Autopsy and Deceased. While there are fast blasting parts on the album the tempo is mostly mid-paced. The vocals have a kind of vile and humid growling sound to them that suits the gore themes in the lyrics well. The songs are pretty straight forward and the riffs are simple but effective. The songs feature horror movie samples which is nothing new on albums like this but always a great atmosphere enhancer. The album lasts for 31:35 which is perfect for this kind of music. Well actually it doesn´t last that long because the last 8:14 minute long song on the album called Cruciflesh has about 4 minutes of silence before it ends with a 1 minute sample. So it´s a very short album.

The production is a bit murky and lacks a bit of punch. While the latter is probably not intentional I´m sure the murky old school sound is.

Flesh Perversion is no revelation IMO, and I think Festered lack a bit of identity to stick out from the hundreds of other acts playing this style. When that is said, Flesh Perversion is still a pretty good album deserving a 3 star rating.
