Vehemency
Beastcraft plays as traditional second wave black metal as possible. Everything is in its place: from the imagery to the anti-Christian and Satanic lyrics and low-fidelity simple black metal. In a way I can not blame them since these guys have been active since the early 90s in different bands, including Urgehal and Vulture Lord.

Into the Burning Pit of Hell is a straight-to-the-point 30-minute black metal album consisting of 11 songs excluding the intro. All the songs are composed in similar manner: they rely on just a few different riffs, sometimes a same riff appearing on another song (see the similarity between "Burnt at His Altar" and "Unholy Blood Ritual"), thus the songs vary from 2 to 4 minutes. The members' devotion to this music is apparent and it's one of the key features here.

Although Into the Burning Pit of Hell is mostly just fast blast beat madness, there's enough slower moments to keep it interesting. That is why the previously mentioned two songs belong to the highlights of the album, letting it breathe a bit. The production is raw but enough distinct.

Make sure not to touch this album or the whole band if you want to hear progression or innovation. For me, Into the Burning Pit of Hell is a fine album and for years it has satisfied me with its blatant mockery and almost exaggerated Satanic approach. On the other hand, I would in no way raise this album among the classics, but for what it is, it's good.
