Paragon is a German heavy/power metal band formed in 1990 by guitarist Martin Christian. They started out as more of a traditional heavy metal band, and occasionally switched back and forth between that and power metal in their early years, but their later albums are all more power metal focused. They released their three albums on smaller labels, before signing with Remedy Records in advance of their 2001 release Steelbound. They released four more albums with Remedy, before switching to Massacre Records for their 2008 album Screenslaves.
Martin left the band in 2010, but he encouraged remaining members Andreas Babuschkin (vocals), Jan Bünning (bass) and Christian Gripp (drums) to keep the band going. So they brought in new guitarists Wolfgang Tewes and Jan Bertram, then proceeded to work on their 10th full length album Force of Destruction, which was released in 2012, and is currently their most recent album.
