Hydra is a progressive power metal band from Osaka, Japan. Formed in 1991, Hydra released three demos. The first demo was released in 1992, Hydra2 was released in 1993 and Hydra3 in 1995. In 1997, Hydra contributed the song “Anger” to a compilation by Ultimate Network Rec., Tokyo called, “Kill 'em All Fakin' Metals 2".
1999 saw the release of their first full-length album, Exhibition of Malice, on Obsidian Factory. In 2009 Obsidian Factory released Hydra’s second album, Long Way to Lord and Other Stories.
