Defeat Lies Ahead was a Dutch metalcore band from Rotterdam in South Holland, formed in 2007.
Defeat Lies Ahead disbanded in 2012.

Defeat lies Ahead broke into the dutch metal scene in 2007 and managed to conquer a place of their own.
The band kicked off as a traditional hardcore band but over the years the music evolved more and more and the band gained a unique sound of their own. In 2009 the band released a four track ep called‘’self preservation ‘’.With this release the band broke through the international barrier and received many great reviews. Even tho they received great responses the band wasn’t fully satisfied with the result (music wise).
After a year of playing gigs and writing new songs the band hit the studio’s once again to record ‘’Cinereous’’. After a week of recording at redpack recordings the band nailed 6 new killers tracks and
