Legendary hard rock/heavy metal act from Tokyo, Japan.
Led by guitarist/vocalist Kyoji Yamamoto, the band formed in 1975. Started out as a melodic classic/hard rock band in the mid 'til late 70's, they quickly made a name for themselves and were touring with popular acts of the time, such as Kiss and Aerosmith.
Yamamoto proved himself early on as an accomplished guitarist developing the hammer technique long before Eddie Van Halen made it popular. In the early 80's Bow Wow changed their sound to an energetic heavy metal sound, fuelled with powerful guitar riffs and fast-driven baselines.
Spreading their wings internationally, Bow Wow played the Reading festival in Britain and the world famous Montreux Jazz festival in 1982. To capitalize on this venture, Roadrunner Records released the Asian Volcano album across Europe. Their presence would be felt on the continent still further with the licensed releases of Warning From Stardust
