A journey begins...

Genre: multilingual modern metal

Artas are literally all over the map on this release. Musically, they draw primarily upon modern thrash metal and melodic death metal, but from this base they venture into power metal, nu metal, brutal death metal, traditional metal, alternative metal, metalcore and whatnot territory. Normally, releases like this will receive criticism from reviewers for being unfocused, but that's a load of crap. I cannot see what is wrong with being eclectic. It certainly works very well for Artas, and eclecticism, I guess, is one of the main characteristics of modern metal anyway.

Lyrically, they are literally all over the map to, as they sing in English, German, Spanish and French. And, as a person with a background in linguistics, I find it interesting to hear how the different qualities of these language contribute to the overall listening experience.

Recommended to fans of modern metal... and to linguists, I guess.
