I just came over from PA, someone sent me a PM about this site after I posted in a metal-related thread over there :)

I'll probably be posting over here more often than PA eventually, I'm much more of a metal-head than a prog-head. As long as the metal-genre nazi's stay away.....I tend to classify metal as 'good' or 'bad', I don't really want to see arguments over stuff like 'band x is metalcore, not thrash metal' etc.

It's complicated, cause being an 'arm' of PA, MMA was first gathered for people from there.

Some of the guys prefere here cause Metal is their thing. What I do know is that MMA needs a bit more divulgation Tongue

It's good to have a bunch of different websites/forums to visit. I'm on a few. Besides here and progarchives I'm also on yesfans, progressive ears, classic rock forums and I think at least one Rush site. I need to rediscover some online Rush forums.

Apart from the "reviews" thing, I do the same, Jonas.

I do have an account on PA, but it is rarely used. It's quite handy as a prog resource but at the end of the day if I asked myself if I actually like the site, then I'd probably say no. I could go into more detail but I'd only come off as bad-mouthing the site I'm afraid, so out of respect this is where I'll stop.

Not me. I'm Prog_Traveller on there. Tongue

I don't think I have posted in this forum since I first joined though. I should probably come in here more often. Smile

All the discussion there outside of the krautrock and rio -related threads is either completely incomprehensible or just plain silly.  And the polls section is ridiculous (in a terrible way)

I was kinda more concerned about how much political correctness there probably is over there.

I think you would be very pleased to hear that I once saw some guy on PA say that Russia was much better off under Soviet rule than it is now under Putin. And he wasn't joking or exaggerating, he actually believes that.

Judging by what's going on in Russia with Putin in power, I think the guy might be actually right. It's obviously choosing between two terrible evils, but at least communism had an ideology behind it. It was warped but still better than Putin's nationalist propaganda.

As for PA, even though my presence there was very short, I'm glad I do not frequent this site (and its forum) anymore.

Hey, the site is nice. Many great bands and songs for streaming!

That's still not what I totally mean.  I don't want to go on there, post my reviews and be told that I'm being "too harsh" or that I'm using "too much profanity".  I figure that it's bad enough here.

Stalin starved people in Ukraine. In consequence, they had to eat their own children to stay alive.
From 1917 to 1980, the communist party was responsible for over 120 million deaths.

Don't get me wrong, Putin is an awful cunt, but to say Russia is doing worse under his rule than under the USSR is quite ignorant and odious to say the least.
I'm from Poland dude, I know all that, believe me. Even if I was ignorant, I'd know that Wink The communist regime started to become less harsh after Stalin's death, that's one thing. Another thing is that opposition is still being killed and imprisoned (Anna Politkowska and Chodorkowski to name just a few). Furthermore, Putin himself was an agent of the KGB. Enough said. Situation in Russia was bad, it is still bad and it has to change.

They asked me to stop suggesting jazz bands for inclusion because they couldn't keep up... so I'm outta there.
