List Challenges Not Related to Metal

Some of the best movies I saw in 2020 were anime. I've also just ordered my first anime TV series boxset (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex).

For family friendly, bearing in mind that's a term more loosely used for Japanese movies if thinking if the standards here in the west, then you need a Studio Ghibli movie. Spirited Away is the logical choice. Though you can't really go wrong with almost any of them, there is good reason why Spirited Away is their best known film and until recently was the highest grossing film in Japan above even the likes of Titanic and Frozen.

For adult orientated, I think a lot of people might say Ghost in the Shell, because it has a huge franchise across manga, film and TV etc. But I'm instead going to say Akira. That was the first more mature anime I watched and got me more interested beyond the Ghibli classics.

Yeah anime streaming isn't that great in the UK. Netflix is better than Amazon is and they have most of the Ghibli catalogue now. What they lack is Grave of the Fireflies, which is their only movie rated higher than PG in the UK. But you can watch all the others there currently and a few others from different studios.

If you get into anime you can pick up Akira quite easily and cheaply here though.
